A sea turtle nest has been spotted on a beach in the state of Mississippi (southeastern United States). This phenomenon had not been observed since 2018. Turtle populations had begun to desert the state's beaches since the 2010 oil spill until completely abandoning them four years ago. It is very good news that the animal is returning to the shores of Mississippi.
