In the Samburu reserve in Kenya (East Africa), an elephant has just given birth to twin daughters. A rare phenomenon, given that twins make up only 1% of elephant births. The coming weeks and months will be decisive for these 2 babies: they will need to drink 11 liters of milk a day for the duration of their breastfeeding, which can last up to 4 years!
Here's wishing moms plenty of milk and long life to these marvels of nature...
