Madd (Saba senegalensis) is a wild species of fruit found in the forests of Senegal. It grows on lianas wrapped around large trees in the region's different forest ecosystems. Rich in vitamin D, madd is consumed either fresh or processed as juice, syrup or preserves, and is an important resource for the local economy. Since 2017, the NGO Économie territoires et développement services (ETDS) has been working with and supporting local producers in Senegal to add value to madd and provide a geographical indication.
