Although breastfeeding is often considered the primary characteristic of mammals, there are other animals that practice it. Such is the case of the jumping spider Toxeus magnus, native to south-east Asia, which breastfeeds its babies right up to adulthood. This nutritious liquid contains sugars, fats and a high concentration of proteins: four times more than cow's milk!
