It answers to the name Split Apple Rock, which means the rock of the split apple. This geological formation is found on the South Island of New Zealand. Dating back to over 120 million years ago, during an ice age, this split rock was created as the temperature dropped. Water that had entered the cracks in the rock eventually froze, causing the stone to expand and split. In Maori, his name is Toka Ngawhā, which means split rock.
