They are 150 in the world. Desert elephants live in the Damaraland region, in the south of Namibia (South Africa). It is one of the driest places in the world. Despite everything, the vegetation continues to grow and feeds the animals that live there. Desert elephants can walk up to 70 kilometers a day to find water. They have smaller tusks than their forest or savannah counterparts, but their longer proboscis allows them to catch leaves six meters high.
