Off Guadeloupe (Antilles), the island of Aruba is home to exceptional biodiversity. Half of the 180 designated species are endemic there, which means that these species are only found in Aruba. Recently, teams of American scientists visited the island and discovered a new shell which they named Jaspidiconus hendrikae. This small poisonous snail measures 14 millimeters and lives between 5 to 10 meters deep under the sand.
