The Brenner bobtail squid is a small animal that lives on the seabed. During the day, to hide from its predators, the mollusk throws grains of sand on its head and body. The grains stick together thanks to a mucus produced by the squid. If a predator approaches, the squid releases an acid that releases it from its camouflage. This slimy, sandy coat then rises in the water and acts as a decoy, distracting the predator while the animal escapes.
