A Belgian prince at the head of the oldest natural park in Africa

Anthropologist, primatologist, and Belgian prince, Emmanuel de Merode has been involved for twenty years in the preservation of species in Congo (West Africa). In 2008, at the age of 38, he became director of one of the largest parks in Africa: the Virunga National Park (Congo). This park is home to a third of the mountain gorilla population. Emmanuel de Merode contributes to the training of rangers against poaching.
