It is nicknamed the bat plant. The species Tacca chanteri takes its nickname from its intense black color and its long filaments making it look like a bat. Its particularity is that it does not produce flowers, but stems that can reach 60 centimeters in length. The Tacca chantrieri plant is native to Southeast Asia and northern India. Its unusual appearance makes it a plant particularly prized by collectors.
