24 hours of the life of... a lion!

The lion is a carnivorous mammal. A prominent member of the African savannah, the lion is known by the nickname King of the Beasts because of its crown-like mane. The lion ingests nearly 7 kg of meat per day and up to 40 kg at one time if the hunt has been successful. He can then go without food for several days. The lion hunts at night or at dawn. But generally, it is the lioness who hunts for the clan. During the day, the lion and lioness spend most of their time resting. He can lie down and sleep between 15 and 20 hours a day.
