t is the fastest growing plant in the world. Bamboo can grow up to one meter per day. Due to its very rapid growth, bamboo stores 4 to 5 times more carbon than an equivalent volume of trees, and produces 30% more oxygen. Most of the bamboo species are native to Asia and America. Very hardy, bamboo is the only plant that survived in the epicenter of the atomic explosion in Hiroshima.
