Among the Loyalty Islands, in New Caledonia, Ouvéa stands out for its sublime landscapes. But being only 124 feet tall and under the effect of global warming and rising waters, Ouvéa is vulnerable. To prevent this paradise island from disappearing, the Lekiny tribe wants to replant the mangrove to slow the rise in water levels and prevent the ocean from penetrating further inland.
