The vervet searches for food on the ground and in trees. It feeds on fruits, flowers, leaves, seeds, gum, insects, birds, eggs. It has jowls in the lower jaw to store its food. In case of danger, it allows the vervet to escape, hands and feet free, carrying its food not yet chewed.
