Zebras can cover several kilometers of grassy savannah daily in search of food. They stagger their meals over fifteen hours, evenly distributed day and night. In the dry season, they rather graze at cool hours, before sunrise and after sunset, and rest at mid-day while, in the rainy season, meals are more numerous during the day.
