The Explorers
Propriano is a small port city on the south-west coast of Corsica located on the south shore of the eponymous gulf. The city developed in the 19th century following the construction of the road connecting Ajaccio to Bonifacio in 1873. It had 3789 inhabitants in 2016. If the urbanization of the gulf was late enough, its anchorage was frequented since antiquity.
