The project for the Marina-Baie des Anges complex of Villeneuve-Loubet was initiated by Lucien Nouvel, a wealthy industrialist, who decided to get into leisure real estate in the early 1960s. A first draft made up of a set of vertical towers and concentric buildings was proposed by the architectural firm Lemaresquier and then abandoned in favor of the project of André Minangoy's design office. Work began in January 1969 and ended in 1993 with the delivery of the fourth pyramidal building and of the site's thalassotherapy center.
