The corrugated iron roofs of the houses of the Napoémien tribe are embedded in the lush vegetation of the eponymous valley where palm trees and giant bamboos grow near waterfalls. The site also conceals petroglyphs, these large stones with a mysterious origin engraved with various patterns (spirals, wrapped crosses, concentric circles, etc.) also found on Lapita potteries dating back to more than 3,000 years.
