Saint-Tropez Peninsula is located between the eponymous gulf to the north and the Bay of Cavalaire to the south and corresponds to an advance of the Massif des Maures in the Mediterranean Sea. Its southern part forms a protected area of 3,143 acres (1,272 ha) of land and 1,853 acres (750 ha) of maritime expanses around the Lardier, Taillat, and Camarat capes, the coast of which is part of the Natura 2000 site of the Var corniche. The sector is also included within the Natural Areas of Ecological Interest, Fauna and Flora of The Maures of Saint-Tropez Peninsula and The Maures.
