The oak barrel displayed in the courtyard of the Fontaines Parfumées estate in Grasse is a reminder of the contribution of cooperage to the worldwide fame of French luxury, just like perfumery. As the barrel enhances the wines and helps them grow without disguising nor dominating them, the copper still (visible in the background) enriches the water vapor with essential oils that will form the basis of perfumes.
