Clay-limestone hills
Mélanie Pfister is the 8th generation of a family that has exploited vineyards on the clay-limestone terroirs of Dahlenheim since 1780. At the edge of the village stands the hamlet of Silberberg. Its soils extend on top of stony hills of varying depth. They allow the culture of various grape varieties, including Pinot Gris, which develops a specific shine when growing on these slopes. Mélanie Pfister seeks to perpetuate the work of her father, who was among the pioneers in the idea of "preserving the soils."
