An unusual cathedral

0
Notre-Dame du Havre Cathedral did not escape the bombardments of 1944 during the Second World War. The unusual building mixes Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural styles and is the oldest monument in the city center. Its visit has become a must-see since the cathedral was saved from destruction by Auguste Perret, the architect in charge of rebuilding Le Havre. The oldest part of Notre-Dame du Havre Cathedral, the bell tower was built in 1539 with Vernon stone and long served as a lighthouse.
