The project of the architect Alain Moatti selected by the city of Deauville for the transformation of the former convent of the Franciscaines into a cultural space has integrated an approach that respects the memory of the place while modernizing it. The new multimedia library-museum, bearer of the history of Deauville, integrates temporalities by being part of the continuity of the former convent. The new spaces have retained its volumes and highlight the original materials (arcades, stained glass, moldings, etc.) by combining them with modern fittings and furniture. The arcades that surround the cloister allow a through look and the circulation of lights and colors.
