The profession of wood turner is now validated by a CAP (Certificate of Professional Aptitude). This national professional diploma is issued by the Ministry of National Education at the end of two years of full-time training and apprenticeship. It allows the apprentices to acquire the traditional craft techniques of woodturning to create, reproduce or restore objects, decorative elements or furniture. The teaching also covers fine art drawing, technical drawing and the history of styles.
