In southwestern Honduras, in La Esperanza, Lencas women wear brightly colored outfits as they shuck cobs of corn, reproducing the gestures of their ancestors. Lenca people are still a hundred thousand and are the largest indigenous community in the country. They maintain their ancestral know-how including corn farming, weaving wool and pottery.
