Commonly known as the "big-headed turtle", it is also recognizable by its heart-shaped shell. The loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) is a carnivorous reptile. After the green turtle, the loggerhead sea turtle is the most widespread species worldwide. It lives in tropical waters as well as in cold seas. The adult loggerhead sea turtle weighs approximately 300 lbs, and measures 3-4 feet long.
